Stress vs. Pregnancy - what Somerset women need to know

February 13, 20261 min read

We all know that stress is rubbish for our health, right?

We hear about (and read, and see in popular culture & media) blokes keeling over with stress-induced heart attacks all the time.

But what about women?

This blog https://altais.com/blog/effects-chronic-stress-womens-health/ from US company Altais notes some hugely important factors:

Chronic stress can make alterations to the hormone balance in a women’s body. That can result in late, irregular, or missed periods. Women that work in a high-stress job are also known to have shorter period lengths of less than 24 days.

And

Chronic stress can also result in decreased fertility. Alpha-amylase is an enzyme that’s linked to stress. An increased level of it can sometimes make it more difficult to conceive.

But before this information makes you MORE stressed just by reading it, please take this as a sign to prioritise your physical and mental health whilst you are Trying To Conceive.

The first thing I would suggest is what I call Morning Release Writing. You can find out more by downloading my guide here: https://debbiedavidsoncoaching.co.uk/signup

This tool works at all ages and stages of life, but is particularly useful whilst trying for a baby as it also serves as a gentle cycle tracker. A way of tracking that is based on the reality of what you’re feeling, not what a chemical strip or thermometer suggests. And for me, that is a much more useful way of understanding your body.

It will also help you to see patterns of things in your work or home life that need addressing, which you could then bring to a coaching session.

So it’s worth a try, right? Take a look at the guide here: https://debbiedavidsoncoaching.co.uk/signup, and then let me know how you get on.

Don’t just be a ‘chronic stress’ statistic.
